  • Alexandria Bay is host to PIRATE DAYS for ten days in mid-August every year. This event celebrates an episode of river folk lore centered around Pirate Bill Johnston, who during the Patriot Wars (1837) helped burn the invading British vessel ‘Sir Robert Peel’. Johnston and his men then hid out in a cave on Devil’s Oven island in an effort to escape capture and sentencing by the British in retaliation for his act of piracy.

The village goes all out with magicians, sword fights, invasions and more. Uncle Sam Boat Tours provides all little pirates free admission on board its regularly scheduled 10 amdeparture of the Two Nation Tour Monday through Friday of Pirate week. To be eligible, little pirates must be dressed in pirate garb and be able to give the password of the day.

A complete listing of Pirate Days events in Alexandria Bay will be posted as they become available. Click here to view the events.

Do you remember the days of 8 tracks & cassette tapes? Then come to Alexandria Bay and remember those days with “Rockin’ The Bay”. This is a Classic Rock & Classic Cars Weekend held the end of August.

For additional information on Rockin the Bay, visit the Alexandria Bay Chamber of Commerce website.
